Global
Password
Clicking
the fourth icon in the topline menu of the "Students"
content area shall present teachers with the option of setting
a "global password" that applies to all student
accounts, as shown in the first mockup, above. This password
doesn't overwrite the password for all student accounts,
but rather supersedes all current passwords.
Enabling
the Global Password
When
the teacher types a password, the "Save" button
should become active when the fourth character is typed.
Upon clicking the button, we'll show the processing animation
in place of the button, along with the text "Updating
password..." in the lower left corner of the module,
as shown in the second mockup, above.
Successful
Update
In
the third mockup above, the message to display when the
password update has been complete is shown.
"You
have successfully set xxxxxxxx as the global password for
all student accounts. Moving forward, your students will
now use this same password to login. This applies to new
accounts, as well. If you wish to exempt any specific student
account from this global password, you may do so from within
said student’s individual account profile."
Revisiting
the Module
When
the teacher revisits this module, after setting the password,
the password shall be preloaded into the form field of the
"Password Enabled" version of the module, shown
in the fourth mockup, above.
Removing
the Global Password
To
remove a global password, once set, the teacher shall click
the "Disable" button in the "Password Enabled"
version of the module, which should result in an updating
that shows the "Global Password Disabled" success
message, as shown in the fifth mockup, above. Alternatively,
the teacher can edit the pre-loaded, previously set password,
which should change the "Disable" button into
a "Save" button.
"You
have successfully disabled your global password. It will
no longer function to allow access to Readingful for any
student accounts. Moving forward, your students will now
each use the password shown within his or her individual
student account profile. This change applies to any new
accounts you create, as well."
Opting
Students Out
Within
each student's individual profile in the "Students"
section of the "Teacher Dashboard" shall be the
option to enable/disable the global password, thus giving
the teacher the option to opt any specific student out from
being subject to the global password. This way, the teacher
has the ability to, for example, have most of her students
use a global password, but a select few use a different
password, or even a passpicture, instead.
