Settings
Just
like a teacher's account, Readingful's master admin account
will require all of the "My Account" modules,
except for the "Account Status" module that displays
when the "My Account" area is opened. This is
obviously because the master admin's account can never be
deactivated, and so it's not necessary. As such, in place
of the "Account Status" module when the admin
opens his account, we'll show the "Settings" module,
by default, as shown beginning with the first mockup, above.
This design has a vertical menu of 9 settings in its upper
right, to allow the admin to navigate through them. When
this module opens, it shall always begin with the first
item in alphabetically sorted menu.
Background
Images
In
the first mockup, above, I'm showing the "Background
Images " admin setting. Here, the admin shall be able
to upload an "Image Package" ZIP file, consisting
of the complete set of background images, 2848 x 1552, in
WebP format, that teachers and the admin may select from
to use as the background image for his or her account. In
the ZIP file each background images shall be saved as "background_image_1.webp"
and "background_image_2.webp" and so on.
Offline
Mode
When
this setting is enabled, as shown in the second mockup,
above, only the master admin's login should function on
the homepage. All other logins, teachers and students, should
be automatically signed out, and then receive the response
"Offline. Try again later." when attempting to
login. The button shall simply toggle between enabled and
disabled states.
Passwords
With
this setting (third mockup, above), the admin shall be able
to update the list of passwords from which one may be randomly
chosen for a new student account in which the teacher does
not specify a custom password.
Pricing
Here,
we'll give the admin the ability to update both the base
price of the Readingful subscription, as well as the price
for adding additional students to the subscription, as shown
in the fourth mockup, above.
Purging
This
setting, shown in the fifth mockup, above, gives the admin
control over the amount of time at which inactive Readingful
teacher accounts should be automatically purged, both never
accessed, and accessed accounts. Note that accounts with
active subscriptions shall be exempt from purging (not counting
the trial period).
Reading
Limit
This
setting allows the admin to specify a hard limit of "new"
stories that students may read per hopur, and per day, as
shown in the sixth mockup, above. When this limit is reached,
all unread stories shall be reduced in opacity in the "Story
Selection Array," with a notice that the student has
reached the maximum number of new stories that can be read
today (much like the notice for the delay in time until
a student can retake a quiz).
Styling
Override
This
setting merely allows the admin to override styling, platform-wide,
as shown in the seventh mockup, above.
Terms
of Service
As
shown in the eighth mockup, above, we'll allow the admin
to simply update the platform's "Terms of Service"
with all of its text in one form field.
Trial
Period
This
setting specifies the number of days a new teacher's account
enjoys the free trial, as shown in the ninth mockup, above.
