Student
Profile
By
clicking any student's name in the "Students"
table of the "Teacher Dashboard," the "Student
Profile" should open, corresponding to said student.
This module, as shown, beginning in the first mockup, above,
displays the student's name, three rows of a data/settings
table at a time, an infoline footer, and, in the lower right,
a button for generating said student's "Progress Report."
Data/Settings
Table
This
table has a total of 18 different rows, each providing/reporting
to the teacher different segments of information and configurable
settings, for the student in question. Mockups 1 to 6 show
all 18 of these items, which shall be able to be cycled
through, via the navigation arrows to the table's right.
Keep in mind that we already
use this table design, and navigation arrows in the "Payment
History" section. So, it does not need to be created
from scratch. Data shown in blue is clickable/editable
for further action. Data shown in gray is simply reported
as static information to the teacher. The data/settings
segments are, as follows:
1.
First Name. Teacher can click the student's first
name to open the editing module to edit it (basically the
same module used during account creation).
2.
Last Name. Same as first name. However, this field
can be left blank when teacher creates the account. If null,
print a double hyphen "--" to display in its place.
3.
Grade. Clicking the grade level number shall open
the editing module to allow the teacher to change the student's
grade, if need be.
4.
Username. Student's full username should show here.
As such, let's limit to a display of 18 characters, max.
Editable by clicking it.
5.
Password. Student's password should display as
plain text here. Editable by clicking it.
6.
Group. Displays the student's currently assigned
group. Teacher can click the group ID number to change the
student's group to another.
7.
Last Active. Let's show this data in minutes, hours,
days, and weeks. Helpful for a teacher to determine if the
student was using Readingful over, say, the weekend at home.
Not editable.
8.
Class Rank. Show's the students current rank among
the teacher's entire set of student accounts, based on most
"texts read" and "texts mastered." Not
editable.
9.
Reading Level. Reports the student's current reading
level. Teacher may edit this from 0.00 to 15.00. If manually
edited, "Progress" score must reset to 0.00.
10.
Texts Read. This data point shows the total number
of stories, or texts, the student has read (for which a
quiz has been finished). Not editable.
11.
Mastery. Shows the percentage of texts student
has mastered (answered 3 of 3 questions correctly, 100%,
during the taking of a quiz), over the total attempted.
Not editable.
12.
Progress. Reports the student's current progress
score (number of reading level points lost, subtracted from
number of points gained, over the prior 7 days) Number can
be positive, an even zero, or negative. Not editable.
13.
Questions Answered. Displays total number of quiz
questions student has answered correctly on the first try,
over total number of questions answered (not including additional
attempts). Clicking its number opens the complete question
record, broken down by skill, for said student.
14.
Avatars Owned. Reports the total number of avatars
the student has purchased. Not editable.
15.
Coins. Shows the current number of coins the student
has earned/saved. The teacher can click this number to edit
its sum to between 0 and 1,000,000.
16.
Power Ups. The teacher also can disable the student's
ability to use "Power Ups." If disabled, the buttons
should all remain visible on the "Quiz" pages,
yet simply be in their non-actionable states.
17.
Leaderboard. Toggles between "enabled"
and "group." When toggled to "group"
the student's leaderboard only shows students in his or
her assigned "reading group," as opposed to all
students.
18.
Global Password. Using this toggle, the teacher
can manually disable the student using any set "Global
Password," instead retaining his or her individual
password.
Editing
Data
Mockups
7 to 14, above, show the editing modules for the 8 different
data points that can be adjusted by the teacher. 6 of them
are basically just harking back to the "New Student
Account Creation" process. Two, however, are new editing
modules that must be made in order for the teacher to edit
the students "readability level" and "coins."
Question
Record
By
clicking the ratio of questions answered in the "Student
Profile" data/settings table, the teacher shall be
able to view the student's entire question answer record,
as shown in mockup 15, above. Here, we'll show the number
of questions the student answered correctly on the first
try, over the total, as well as display this figure as a
percentage (rounded up to the nearest whole percent), for
each reading skill area. There are 48 different reading
comprehension skill bases or areas. This table should list
those with data, alphabetically, first. Followed by those
with no data, alphabetically, after.
The
48 skill area descriptions can be found here.
Progress
Reports
When
the "+ Report" button is clicked or tapped by
the teacher, the same process for generating progress reports,
as detailed in the batch progress report generator specs,
shall begin. The only difference is that it shall generate
a report for only the student in question, as opposed to
all students at once, and can open as a single PDF.
Deleting
Student Accounts
When
the "Delete" link is clicked in this module's
infoline footer, the text "Permanently delete this
account? It cannot be undone." shall display, followed
by the "Delete It" button replacing the progress
report creation button, as shown in the 16th mockup, above.
Upon confirming the deletion by clicking the button, "Permanently
deleting student account..." shall display in the footer,
along with the standard processing animation and, upon successful
deletion, the teacher should be returned to the "Students"
table of the "Teacher Dashboard."
