		"Drat!" muttered Kikotu, holding a big leaf by its stem over his head.			"Drat!" grumbled Kikotu, as he held a giant left by its stem--curled over his head.									
		It wasn't supposed to rain today.			It wasn't supposed to rain today.

		The grumpy cat didn't have an umbrella.			The peeved cat didn't own an umbrella.									
		So, he picked a large leaf from his garden when he left home.			As such, he had resorted to plucking the hefty plant from his garden when he left his yard.									
		It wasn't as good as an umbrella, but it helped a little.			Although not a perfect substitute for a mechanical droplet blocking device--it certainly worked in a pinch.

		Kikotu used the leaf on his short walk from his house to the bus stop.			Kikotu used it well on the brief walk from his home, to the bus stop.									
		"This jacket is velvet.			"This jacket is velvet.									
		It can't get wet!" the annoyed cat said.			It can't get wet!" grumbled the frustrated feline.

		Luckily, just a minute later, the bus stopped right where he was standing.			Fortunately, but a minute later, his chosen mode of transport came to a quick stop right in front of where he stood.									
		He would soon be out of the rain.			He would soon have shelter from the weather.

		As the bus stopped, Kikotu saw it would drive through a big, dirty mud puddle.			As the big machine halted, Kikotu could tell it would go right through a large, dirty mud puddle on the street before him.									
		"Not today," said the smart cat.			"Not today," said the clever kitten.									
		At the last second, he moved the leaf in front of his body, to block the muddy water from splashing him.			At the last instant, he swung the leaf downward to block the splash from dousing him in grimy water.

		Dropping the wet leaf on the ground, Kikotu got on the bus with a smile.			Discarding the sopping leaf on the ground, Kikotu stepped aboard the bus--smiling.									
		He sat next to old Mrs. Nokai.			He plopped his furry rump down in a seat next to old Mrs. Nokai.									
		Without saying anything, she spilled her tea on his coat when the bus hit a bump.			Without a word, she accidentally spilled her morning tea all over his coat, when the bus hit an unexpected bump in the road.									
		"Drat!" Kikotu hissed--angrily.			"Drat!" Kikotu hissed--angrily.
